In addition to our middle and high school curriculum, CodeHS provides customizable, vertically-aligned elementary lessons to unify a K-12 computer science pathway. We've created Quick Reference Guides to support new Computer Science teachers as they begin using the Elementary Curriculum. Each guide summarizes CodeHS resources and includes a description of relevant CS concepts and the accompanying code blocks for the Scratch or ScratchJr platform.

Lower Elementary Guide (K-3rd grade)

Guide includes:

  • Outline of computer science concepts and related ScratchJr Blocks

  • List of K-3rd grade Coding and Interdisciplinary Lessons

  • ScratchJr resources included in CodeHS Portal

  • Suggestions to prepare to teach a CodeHS lesson

  • ScratchJr Basics

Upper Elementary Guide (3rd-6th grade)

Guide includes:

  • Outline of computer science concepts and related Scratch Blocks

  • 3rd- 6th-grade Coding and Interdisciplinary Lessons

  • Scratch resources included in CodeHS Portal

  • Suggestions to prepare to teach a CodeHS lesson

  • Scratch Basics

CodeHS Elementary Curriculum is included with an Elementary License. If you believe you should have access to the Elementary Portal, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager, or send an email to hello@codehs.com.
