The Conversations tool allows teachers to send messages to their students and view their conversation. Conversations can be initiated by students or teachers.
💡 To post an announcement to an entire class Section, check out the Announcements tool. Both the Conversations and Announcements tools can be found in the Messages App.
Navigating to the Conversations tool
Click on the Toolbox in the top nav bar
Select Messages under the Classroom category
Navigate to the Conversations tab
Sending Messages to Your Students
Use the Section dropdown menu to select a class Roster
Click on a student's name
Type your message and click Send
Where Students Can Read their Messages
Students can read their messages by clicking on their inbox and selecting a message from you to read and respond to.

Email notifications allow teachers to receive an email when a student sends a message through Conversations or submits a Help question. To learn more about these settings and how to configure them for your sections, check out the full Email Notifications article.
