How to sign up for CodeHS as a student, enroll in your class section, and begin working in CodeHS

Getting Started

Creating a CodeHS Account

First steps to creating a student account:

  • Click Sign Up

  • Click Create Student Account

Note: If your school uses Google Classroom, Clever, or Canvas, you will NOT need to create an account!

  • Enter your name and email address (Note: your teacher can change this later if they need to)

  • Create a password (your teacher can help with changing this later if necessary)

  • Use the URL or Class Code provided by your teacher to join your class section.


📓 If your class uses Google Classroom

CodeHS sections that use Google Classroom will not have a Class Code. All you need to do is:

  • Go to codehs.com

  • Click login with Google and you will be taken to your assignments

📚 If your class uses Clever or Canvas

CodeHS sections that use Clever or Canvas will not have a Class Code. All you need to do is:

  • Launch CodeHS from Clever or Canvas


Enrolling in a Section from Your Student Page

If you already have a CodeHS account, you can enroll in a new Section by using the Class Code.

  • Go to codehs.com/join_class or click on Join Section located in the left navigation bar.

  • If you’re logged into CodeHS and visit the invitation URL, you will automatically go to the Join Section page.


Getting Started in CodeHS

  • When you first log in, you will see your student page which lists all of your current sections.

  • Click the name of the section to see all modules and start working through the curriculum.

  • Clicking on Resume takes you to the last activity you were working on.
