Solutions are only available to verified teachers on CodeHS. This is included with CodeHS Free, however teachers must submit the teacher verification form to get access to solutions.
Solutions and Problem Guides App Overview
The Solutions and Problem Guides app on CodeHS allows you to view solutions to all of the quizzes and coding exercises in your courses. The Problem Guides tool also provides detailed explanations of solutions and how to help students get through common challenges in order to solve exercises. To navigate to the app:
Look under Assignments in the left hand navigation bar
Click on Solutions
Using the Solutions and Problem Guides App Tools
The Solutions and Problem Guides app features two tools, Solutions and Problem Guides, which can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the page:
Solutions Tool
The Solutions tool allows you to browse the solutions for all quizzes and assignments for any course that you're using.
Use the drop-down menus in the top nav to browse by course and assignment number.
Scroll down to see solutions. The Problem Guide link at the bottom leads to more detailed explanations of the assignment solution.
Problem Guides Tool
Problem Guides offers a more comprehensive overview of assignment solutions. You can also click the Grade button to jump to your grading queue for this assignment, or click View Editor to see the exercise in the code editor. In the Problem Guide, you'll find:
An assignment Description - directions for the assignment
Motivation - the goal of the assignment: what skills students should take away or practice
Solution - view and run solution code
Common Questions - challenges or questions that students commonly face when working on this assignment
Explain This to Me - Video walkthrough of the solution (CodeHS Pro Only)
Explain this to Me
The Explain this to Me Videos are available for select assignments through CodeHS Pro. In these walkthrough videos, the CodeHS curriculum team shows how to solve coding exercises and some of the common issues students might come across when working through the problem.
