The Roster app on CodeHS is where you can view a list of the students within your section, add students to your section, manage your students' accounts, and adjust individual student settings.

To navigate to your Roster, click on the Roster app from the left-hand navigation underneath the Classroom category:

The Roster app features five tools, which can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the page: Roster, Manage, Student Settings, Invite, and Groups.

The Roster tool is where you will see a list of all of the students within your section. To switch sections, use the Section dropdown menu at the top of the page:

Within the Roster tool, you will see various apps linked at the top, a list of all of the teachers within the section, and a list of all the students within the section.

For each of your students, you will see six icons:

You can also use the '...' to remove a student from the section:

Note: Viewing student progress from the Roster tool is only available with CodeHS Pro

The Manage tool is where you can view all of your students first names, last names, emails, usernames, and student IDs. You can change your students' passwords by clicking on the icon and set their preferred language by using the dropdown menu.

You also have the option to create a new section from an existing roster. Click the green “Create New Section From Roster” button to generate a new section that is automatically populated with all students currently enrolled in the original section.

To create a new section from an existing roster:

The Invite tool is where you add students to your section. Your students can sign up using the link or you can use the form to send an email invitation to your students.

The Student Settings tool is where you can configure individual student settings. You can use the dropdown menus to switch between students and sections.

You can change the student's first name, last name, email, username, and password from the Student Settings tool.
