New Features and Highlights

Turning In Self-Paced Assignments

Students now have the ability to turn in self-paced assignments, so you will know when an assignment is completed and ready to be graded.

You can turn this feature on in both platforms.

  1. Go to your Section Settings by clicking on the Gear Icon of a section

  2. Scroll down and Enable Allow Self Paced Activities for Students (This will automatically enable Allow Students to Submit Assignments upon refresh)

Typing Placement Test

Students are now able to take a Typing Placement Test! Have your students take this test to help gain insight on their typing speed and accuracy. (Interested in adding typing to your CodeHop license? Visit codehs.com/typing)

Enable placement tests in Typing Settings. You can also enable Automatically Skip Lessons to have a student's placement test results automatically skip them forward to the right starting point.

AI and Digital Literacy Lessons

We have built out our offerings for AI and Digital Literacy lessons. Many digital literacy concepts now have their own unique lesson in each grade level, so the concepts spiral year after year as students build on what they've learned.

New Reports: Progress, Gradebook, and Quizzes

Get more insight into your students' progress using the new Reports app. Go to Reports and choose a section to move between three tabs:

  • Quizzes: CodeHop teachers can now assign graded quizzes! Quizzes will be available this fall, starting with our general pathways. Review quiz scores and class averages, see a question-by-question breakdown for each student, and push a quiz to individual students. Learn More.

  • Progress: See how far each student has gotten through each lesson, and turn on Track Student Submission to let students mark their own work as finished. Learn More.

  • Gradebook: View lesson grades and completion status for every student, grade lessons on a 1-4 scale, and export grades as a CSV or Excel file. Learn More.

New Pathways

We are excited to introduce a new K-5 Digital Literacy and AI Pathway, along with new state-specific pathways aligned to state standards:

Updated Pathways

We have also made significant updates to several existing pathways:

  • K-5 CS Pathway: This pathway has been updated to meet the new CSTA standards. These courses now offer more digital literacy lessons that scaffold across grade levels.

  • Utah CS Pathway: This pathway has been updated to include new AI and Digital Literacy lessons.

  • Utah Interdisciplinary Pathway: The lessons in each course have been updated so that no lessons repeat across grade levels.

  • New York CS and Digital Fluency Pathway: This pathway has been updated with new digital literacy lessons that scaffold across grade levels.
