To Reset a Scratch Program
Students can use the keyboard shortcut (Command + Z for Mac or Ctrl + Z for Windows) to undo their most recent action(s) in Scratch (but not in ScratchJr). They can repeat this shortcut multiple times to undo multiple actions.
If a student deletes a sprite and wants it back, they should first try Command/Control-Z or Restore Sprite to get it back.
However, if the sprite was deleted too many steps ago or if the student saved their program after deleting the sprite, and they need the starter code / original Scout sprite back, then the teacher can consider resetting the project to the original starter code.
To reset a student's program to the original starter code from the lesson’s assignment page:
Navigate to the assignment page
Select the Progress tab (in your class section)
Click the lesson name to get to the assignment page
Press the 3 dots in the corner of the thumbnail and select ‘reset’.
See more here.
💡 Note: The Command-Z feature only works for manipulating blocks in a program. Also, the Restore Sprite button in the dropdown menu is no longer accessible after a program is saved and reloaded.
