Using the Google Classroom App Tools
The Google Classroom App features four tools, which are accessible from the top menu: Overview, Roster, Grade Passback, and Settings.
Overview
The Overview tool is the main page of the Google Classroom App, displaying a full list of your sections. From here, you can link, sync, and disconnect your Google Classroom sections.
Linking a Section
The Link feature allows you to connect an existing Google Classroom Section with CodeHS.
To Link a Section with Google Classroom:
Navigate to the Overview Tool
Under Actions, select Link > Import from Google Classroom.
Use the Pick a Class drop-down menu to select a Section.
Notes:
Sections that have previously been linked with another integration will not be able to be linked within the Google Classroom App.
If a student is in your class on CodeHS, but is not in your Google Classroom roster, they will be removed.
Syncing a Section
Once your Google Classroom Section is linked within CodeHS, the Sync option will be visible. Syncing your section will update the CodeHS roster with Google Classroom.

Disconnecting a Section
Disconnecting a section will unlink this section from Google Classroom.
To Disconnect a Section:

Confirm the action by selecting Disconnect from Google Classroom.
Note: Students enrolled in the section will remain enrolled in that section.

The Roster tool shows a list of students within your linked Google Classroom Sections. It displays the Student's Name, Google Classroom ID, and Permissions Status.
How to view a Section Roster:
Navigate to the Roster tool at the top of the page
Use the Section drop-down menu at the top left to select a Section to view.
Permissions
The Permissions feature in the Roster tool shows whether a student has enabled or disabled Google Classroom permissions. The status is displayed under Roster > Permissions.
How to Enable Permissions:
If a student's permissions reflect as disabled, they can navigate here (https://codehs.com/student/setup_google_classroom) and follow the prompt to allow submitting to CodeHS.
Settings
The Settings tool lets you manage your Google Classroom App configurations. You can view and update teacher and student permissions, enable or disable grade passback, and disconnect sections as needed.
Teacher Permissions
At the top of the Settings page, you can check whether your Teacher Permissions are connected or not connected.
