Badges App Overview
The Badges app on CodeHS is where you can create and award custom badges to students in a section, as well as view all the badges they have earned.
Note: Pro teachers can create an unlimited number of badges.
You can find the Badges App on the left navigation bar, under the Classroom Category, named Badges:
Using the Badges App Tools
The Badges app features two clickable tools: Award and Library. You'll find these tools at the top of any page within the Badges app:
Award
Award is the main page for the Badges app. Here you'll be able to see all students in your section and can award badges. You can also view all the badges a student has earned.
Filter to view by Section or by Student:

Library
The Library tool enables you to create your own custom badges and see a list of all your custom badges.
Create your own badge by uploading an image (square images are best), naming it, and adding a description:
A few ideas for using badges:
Consider assigning badges based on your school's "Core Values" or growth mindsets.
Make posters of the badges for your classroom so you can show off what your students are earning and learning.
Celebrate students with a class cheer when a student earns a badge.
Design badges based on people who inspire and motivate your students: characters in novels, historical figures, famous athletes, renowned scientists...
However, you choose to use badges in your classroom we hope they are a great tool for motivating students and building a joyful classroom culture!
