Overview of Impact

Chrome is initiating changes to its third-party cookie policy, which involves gradually phasing them out for some users. This development is likely to affect how external Learning Management Systems (LMS) integrate with CodeHS.

Which LMS Platforms may be impacted?

  • Schoology

    • Teachers and students can still access CodeHS by launching from Schoology, but they will not automatically be logged into CodeHS as they were previously. It's still possible to log into CodeHS directly via Google SSO or with a username/password.

    • Grades will still pass back from CodeHS to Schoology as long as the student launches each assignment from Schoology.

Alternative Options

If your system is impacted by this change, please consider these options:

  1. Try turning third party cookies on (this may need to be done by an administrator)

  2. Use a different browser like Firefox

Which platforms will not be impacted?

  • Canvas, Moodle, D2L, Buzz - both LTI 1.1 and LTI 1.3 should not be affected by this change

  • Clever & ClassLink - both platforms should not be affected by this change

  • If you access CodeHS directly rather than through a third party, your access will not be affected by this change

CodeHS is actively working on finding solutions to mitigate these challenges. We value your patience and understanding as we navigate through these changes and strive to ensure a smooth experience for all our users.
