It's possible to view CodeHS Elementary content in English or Spanish! Scratch and ScratchJr programs will be shown in a student's preferred language. If there is Spanish starter code available, students will automatically see the translated content.

Choose the Preferred Language for Elementary Students

Students must be enrolled in your section before changing language settings.

  • When viewing your Section, click the gear icon in the upper right corner to open your Section Settings. You can also access the settings by clicking the gear icon from your Sections page.

  • Scroll to the Roster Management section

  • Use the dropdown menu next to the student's name to choose their preferred language.

Choose the Preferred Language for Your Teacher Account

In your Account Settings under the Profile Settings tab, set your preferred language using the drop-down menu. All available translated assignments and student-facing resources will default to the language that you've chosen.

Accessing Translated Lesson Slides

If there is a Spanish slide deck available, you can teach lessons in Spanish or share the Spanish version of the slide deck with your students by viewing the Lesson Plan, scrolling down to the Lesson Slides, choosing Spanish, and clicking Open or Copy Slides. Note: The Ready-to-Go slides will not show the Spanish option.
