💡 If you have an enrollment limit due to your Pro license, you will see a banner in your Sections app informing you of your limit. Please see your License page and reach out to your Customer Success Manager or support@codehs.com if you have any questions!

Section Enrollment Limit

There isn't technically a limit to how many students you can have in an individual Section (unless you have a Pro license with an enrollment limit). However, we recommend limiting Sections to 40 students or fewer to ensure that our teacher tools remain user-friendly.

We also recommend that you create a Section for each class period that you are teaching.

Locking Student Enrollment

You can lock student enrollment for your Section by toggling Lock Enrollment on in your Section Settings:

  1. Click the three dots "..." next to the Section

  2. Select Edit Section

  3. Scroll down to Lock Enrollment and toggle the button

Archiving Old Students

It’s important to keep in mind that all students in your active Sections count toward the student limit if your license has an enrollment cap, not just students in your current year’s Sections. Archiving old Sections will remove those students from your active enrollment count.

To archive a Section:

  1. Navigate to your Sections app

  2. Click the "..." button next to a Section, and click "Archive Section"
