All activities in CodeHS courses have a module, lesson, and assignment number associated with them. Assignment numbers are formatted as Module > Lesson > Assignment
.
Here's an example outline that shows how the courses are organized:
You can reorder modules, lessons, and assignments in any CodeHS course. By default, the assignment numbers will remain the same, even if you remove or reorder content in the course. See sequential numbering to learn more about renumbering assignments as you reorder your course.
Reordering Modules
To reorder a module, click on the three dots"..." next to the module and select Move Up or Move Down:ย
You can also drag and drop modules to reorder them. At the top of the page, click the blue Edit button to enable dragging and dropping. Click and drag modules to the desired order, then click Done to save your changes:
Reordering Lessons
To reorder a lesson, click the three dots "..." next to its title and select Move Up or Move Down (1) or choose Move To Module (2) to send the lesson to a different module:
Reordering Assignments
To reorder an assignment, click the three dots "..." to the right of its title. Under the Organize heading, select Move Up, Move Down, or Move To Lesson to send it to a different lesson:
Sequential Module and Problem Numbering
Enabling sequential numbering will label the modules and activities sequentially as you customize your course! Note that the assignment numbers displayed in teacher resources, such as Lesson Plans, will remain the same.
To Enable Sequential Numbering:
There are two ways to enable sequential numbering:
From your Assignments page, click the Course Settings button in the upper right corner. Toggle the buttons on for both the "Show Sequential Module Numbers" and "Show Sequential Problem Numbers" options.
From your Courses page, either click the gear icon next to the course's name or click the Settings tab at the top of the page. Toggle the buttons on for both the "Show Sequential Module Numbers" and "Show Sequential Problem Numbers" options.
