The CodeHS PCAP Certification Prep course is aligned with the PCAP™ – Certified Associate in Python Programming (PCAP-31-03) exam objectives. It includes practice materials that build intermediate Python skills and prepare students for certification.

Note: The PCAP exam is external and not administered by CodeHS. We recommend purchasing and scheduling the exam directly through OpenEDG.
Courses That Support the PCAP Exam
PCAP Certification Prep: A 33-hour course focused on PCAP exam content and readiness. It covers the PCAP topics beyond those in Advanced Python and AI Programming and includes a PCEP Refresher module for students who need a review.
Advanced Python and AI Programming: The PCAP Certification Prep course is designed as a companion to this course. We recommend teaching PCAP Certification Prep after or alongside it.
Students who don’t yet have PCEP-level Python skills can start with the PCEP Certification Prep course.
Note: Unlike PCEP, there’s no supplemental module version of the PCAP content to add to an existing course.
Practice Exam Materials
To help students prepare, the PCAP Certification Prep course includes:
Topic quizzes: a quiz for each PCAP exam section to check understanding as students move through the course.
Exam Day Strategy lesson: covers the exam format, pacing, flag-and-return, reading code traces, and interpreting scores.
Three full-length practice exams: timed practice exams that match the PCAP-31-03 exam blueprint and timing.
How to Use the Practice Materials
The PCAP topic quizzes can be used after each module to help students check their understanding, and the three practice exams can be used as a complete practice sequence to prepare for the exam. Teachers and students can access the practice exams in the Practice Exams module near the end of the course, and the PCEP Refresher (Supplemental) module at the end of the course can be used at any point for a review of Python fundamentals.
