CodeHop: Using the Gradebook with the Reports App

Navigating to the Gradebook

The Gradebook dashboard provides a comprehensive, grid-based view of student scores and assignment statuses across your entire class. With color-coded visual indicators, you can evaluate individual scores at a glance. To access this page, navigate to the left-hand menu of your CodeHop Teacher Homepage and select Reports > Gradebook.

Grading Assignments

You can evaluate and grade student assignments directly from the Gradebook dashboard. Jump in and grade or modify an assignment grade to any status, including Not Opened, Opened, Needs Grading, Complete, or Graded.

To grade student assignments:

  1. Click on a student's assignment from the specific lesson column in the dashboard.

  2. A grading modal will open on the right of the screen, and you can view the student's program and enter a score.

  3. You can evaluate the student's program by clicking Open project.

  4. Grade the assignment by selecting a Grade and clicking Save.

A 'Saved' confirmation will appear at the bottom of the grading modal, and the Gradebook will update to reflect the student's score.

Grading Rubric

Use the rubric at the bottom of each lesson plan to assign a score based on the concrete measures provided.

Clear Grade from Assignments

You can easily clear a grade from the dashboard. When you clear an assignment grade, it will reset the score and change the assignment back to its previous status.

To clear a grade:

  1. Click on the student's assignment within the specific lesson column on your dashboard.

  2. When the grading modal appears, click Clear Grade.

A 'Saved' confirmation will appear at the bottom of the grading modal, and the Gradebook will update and reset the assignment to its previous status.
