Overview

As computing continues to shape every aspect of our lives, preparing students to understand and apply computer science concepts is more important than ever. The AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP) course introduces students to foundational computing concepts, data, programming, and the societal impacts of technology.

To help educators deliver an engaging and inclusive AP CSP experience, CodeHS is launching the 2026–27 Teaching AP CSP Cohort — a year-long professional learning experience for teachers using CodeHS AP CSP (JavaScript or Python) for the first time or looking to expand their teaching practice.

This cohort is designed for:

  • Educators new to teaching AP CSP

  • Teachers transitioning into computer science

  • Experienced instructors seeking to deepen their understanding of pedagogy and CodeHS CSP curriculum

Participants will develop confidence in teaching computer science, explore student-centered instructional strategies, and learn how to foster equity and collaboration in the classroom.

Join the 2026–27 Teaching AP CSP Cohort

Get support navigating your first year with this new curriculum by joining a cohort of educators teaching AP CSP across the country! This cohort will kick off on July 29th, 2026 and will run throughout the year. The cohort will include:

Synchronous Sessions - Learn alongside peers in interactive sessions held at five key points throughout the year.

Asynchronous Activities - Explore teaching strategies that promote engagement and collaboration and learn how to overcome common student comprehension challenges within a CodeHS workshop section.

Spotlight Lessons - Review CodeHS Spotlight lessons for an in-depth look at new AP CSA content areas and specific topics that warrant special attention.
