Creating a Free Teacher Account
To create a teacher account, visit: codehs.com/signup/teacher. You have two quick and easy options to sign up:
Manual Registration: Fill in your personal information directly on the sign-up page.
Sign Up with Google: For a faster setup, click the Sign Up With Google button and use your existing Google account.
After signing up, you’ll be prompted to complete a short survey about your teaching experience and school information. Once that’s done, your teacher account is ready to use.
Creating a Section and Assigning the Hour of AI Activity
To create a new section:
Go to the Sections app > click New Section at the top of the page.
Name your section.
Under Choose Course Type, select CodeHS Course.
Search for and select one of the Hour of AI courses (also listed here: https://codehs.com/hourofai) from the CodeHS course list.
After your section is created, click Add Students or open the Roster app from the left-hand navigation menu to invite students. In the Roster app, you can invite students by email, send a join link, or share your Class Code.
Helping Students Create Accounts (Optional)
💡 Note: Students do not need to create an account or log in to access Hour of AI activities. However, they will not be able to save or return to their work later unless they are logged in to CodeHS.
To help your students create accounts, have them follow these steps:
Visit codehs.com/signup/student or use the teacher's invite link.
Choose one of the following sign-up options:
Manual Registration: Enter name, email address, and create a password.
Sign Up with Google: Use an existing Google account to sign up quickly.
Enter or confirm the Class Code provided by the teacher.
Click Create Account to finish joining the section.
