Overview

Earlier this year, the College Board announced revisions to the AP Computer Science A curriculum. In response, we’ve launched the new CodeHS AP CSA Cortado course—designed from the ground up to align with these updates.

While addressing the new College Board requirements, we also took this opportunity to refresh the entire course. Cortado features new lessons, expanded coding activities, updated examples, and a deeper integration of computer science pedagogy. The result is an engaging, collaborative, and student-centered learning experience that supports both teachers and learners. This course is also now officially endorsed by the College Board!

What’s next? It is your turn! Get ready to teach AP CSA next year and set your students up for exam success by joining the 2025-26 Teaching AP CSA Cohort!

Join the AP CSA 2025-26 Cohort

Get support navigating your first year with this new curriculum by joining a cohort of educators teaching AP CSA across the country! This cohort will kick off on July 29th, 2025 and will run throughout the year. The cohort will include:

Synchronous Sessions - Learn alongside peers in interactive sessions held at five key points throughout the year.

Asynchronous Activities - Explore teaching strategies that promote engagement and collaboration and learn how to overcome common student comprehension challenges within a CodeHS workshop section.

Spotlight Lessons - Review CodeHS Spotlight lessons for an in-depth look at new AP CSA content areas and specific topics that warrant special attention.

The CodeHS PD Team

The cohort facilitators bring decades of experience teaching computer science, with deep expertise in Java and the AP Computer Science A curriculum. Having worked closely with hundreds of schools across the country, they offer valuable insight into a wide range of classroom environments and instructional strategies. Their extensive background not only includes teaching AP-level courses but also supporting educators through curriculum development, professional training, and hands-on coaching. This wealth of experience ensures that cohort members will receive relevant, practical guidance rooted in real-world teaching practice.

Kickoff for this cohort is July 29th, 2025.
