This article outlines the three main steps you need to take in order to get your students started in a new course.
- STEP 1 - Enroll your existing section of students in the new course from the course catalog
- STEP 2 - Students access the new course
- STEP 3 - Change the main course for your section
***Rather than creating a whole new section, we highly recommend that you enroll your existing section of students in an additional course through the course catalog.
STEP 1 - Enroll your section in the new course from the course catalog:
First, go to https://codehs.com/course/catalog to find information on all of the courses that we offer on CodeHS. From there, simply click the "Enroll My Sections"button for whichever course you'd like students to be enrolled in.
From there, you can choose which section you would like to enroll in that course by switching the tab next to your section to read “Yes”.
STEP 2 - Students access the new additional course:
Once you enroll your section in the new additional course, your students will be able to access this additional course from their student page in the left-hand side-bar under the section titled “My Courses.”
From here, students can also access the other courses they are enrolled in.
STEP 3 - Change the main course for your section:
If you ever want to change the main course of your section, (the course that students will automatically be taken to each time they log in) you can do that from your 'Section Settings' page.
To change a section's main course, visit the Section Settings page by clicking on the "gear" icon in the upper right-hand corner of your section page.
From there, you'll find an option to change the main course for that section.
And there you have it! You now have a new main course for your students to start working in.
